This is a great survival food for weeklong trips into the bush.
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons milk powder
Makes enough to last 1 person for one day. Approx 2 servings.
Combine ingredients. It may be easier to melt the butter first. Once combined, slowly add water until you have an easy to work with dough. Make sure not to make it too loose.
You can add other things to it to spice it up. You can also add to it wild edibles like berries or nuts. Try cinnamon and nutmeg to make it taste like a cinnamon roll. \
Simply wrap in plastic wrap and put in a waterproof bag to transport. I preferr to cook all my bread by the second day of the trip, then store back in the waterproof bag to keep from going stale.
When you cook it, wrap it around a green limb and hold it over the fire, or make a rack for it out of green limbs. Cook until gold brown
